The Jubilee Weekend saw the return of the Annual Soapbox derby, with the club once again fielding a team entry, this year a stripped-down Red, white and blue speed machine. The hill was packed with spectators, there were crowds gathered to watch on the big screen. While others took advantage of the side shows, rides and food, as well as the display of classics from the club. With a stripped-down team due to injuries our first run down the hill saw Keith R and Kieran push Adam off to a good start with a 30.22 second run just a fraction slower than 2019, finishing round one in second place by thousandths of a second. Our final timed run of the day saw Keith and Kieran Joined by Lewis and Peter giving us the maximum allowed pushing team, propelling Adam in the soapbox which now had damaged suspension to a 29.45 second winning run. |
